With the #UYL GW1 over, I thought I'd shine a light on some of the most impressive performances.

(The players suggested are based on the games I personally watched and I was unable to watch several games.)

RB: Leandro Santos - SL Benfica (18)

Benfica had a pretty routine win and in defence, Leandro Santos was an impressive performer.

A quality first touch, ice cold composure on the ball and a tight turn radius to intricately turn out of small spaces; the Benfica RB's technical ability shone.

When on the ball he showed plenty of ball security but also looked to break the lines or clip passes over the top of the defence down the line.

Down the right flank, Santos would play 1-2's to bypass the press and get around defenders.

He frequently combined well with the RW and RCM to create triangles or quick combinations to get in behind the defence and drive to the byline.
