Portugal international Joao Pinto says he has regained his love of football at Sporting Lisbon after leaving their bitter rivals Benfica, a club he claims is beset by problems caused by chairman Joao Vale e Azevedo.
Pinto is still furious about his treatment at the hands of Benfica, who showed one of their most talismanic players the door 16 months ago.
"I'm proud of my past and for what I've done at the clubs I've served in my career and at none of them did I do anything to justify that kind of treatment," he said.
"When Vale e Azevedo became Benfica president my life was never the same again. It was obvious that something had to give and, of course, it was me that gave way. There was something every day," Pinto told the Record newspaper.
