French club Marseille look set to raid Benfica for the second time in a week after setting their sites upon goalkeeper, Yannick Quesnel. The La Championat giants have already completed a loan switch for Brazilian defender Andre Luiz. New manager, Jean Fernandez is keen to strengthen his squad for the upcoming seaon and Quesnel could be the ideal option. The 31-year-old reserve goalkeeper wants to return to his homeland and he could arrived at Marseille on a season-long loan after failing to find a starting role ahead of Quim and Moreira. Marseille have a goalkeeping crisis as number one Fabien Barthez is suspended until later this year, meaning Cedric Carasso will step up as first choice with Yannick likely to provide competition to him. Yannick played only a handful of games inthe 2004/2005 season, one of which in a 1-0 Champions league qualifying win over Anderlecht, before going on loan to lowly Estoril in January. There is also a lot of speculation linking Norweigen forward Azar Karadas with a move to Turkey. Besiktas have emerged as strong candidates to land the players signature as a replacement for John Carew. Despite scoring in both of Benfica's friendly games so far, Karadas is still likely to be sold, especially as rumours continue to indicate Danish star Jon Dahl Tomasson will join Benfica in the coming days.
